Should I turn my water off if I am going away for a short time?
We recommend shutting off the main water valve before leaving because a single burst pipe or cracked appliance hose can release thousands of gallons of water, causing catastrophic drywall, flooring, and mold damage within hours.
Better to be safe then sorry!

What items should I avoid putting down my
garbage disposal?
* Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG): They solidify inside cold sewer pipes, forming thick, cement-like blockages.
* Stringy/Fibrous Foods:
Celery, corn husks, and onion skins wrap around the blades and jam the motor.
* Starchy Foods:
Pasta, rice, and potato peels swell up in water to create a thick paste that completely plugs the drain line.
* Coffee Grounds & Eggshells: These break down into a fine, abrasive sand that settles in the bottom of your
P-trap, stopping all water flow.

Are chemical drain cleaners safe to use on clogs?
These harsh chemical products rely on intense exothermic reactions that create extreme heat. They can quickly warp or melt plastic PVC pipes, eat through old cast iron lines, and pose a severe chemical burn risk to anyone working on the pipes later. Stick to a manual sink plunger or a flexible mechanical drain snake to clear blockages safely.

How often should I service my
heat and A/C system(s)?
* Schedule an AC tune-up
before summer peak usage.
Technicians will clean outdoor condenser coils, check refrigerant levels, and inspect electrical connections.
* Schedule a furnace or heat pump checkup before winter. Technicians will inspect the heat exchanger for hazardous cracks, clean burners, and verify safety controls.
5
How do I prepare for my seasonal opening/closing?
* GIVE ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS…
How to enter, alarm code(s), lock code(s), etc
* PREPARE AND SHARE…
-
Do you want the heat left on low or off?
-
Do you have any special, or hidden, valves that will need attention?
-
Do you want electricity and/or gas left on or off?
*If turning off power, be sure to empty your refrigerator/freezer.
(dishwasher, laundry, etc.)
* Call to schedule to have your house and outside plumbing closed for the season.
(kindly, a 45-60 day notice is preferable)

How long does the typical water heater last?
* Traditional Tank (Gas/Electric)
8 – 12 Years
FYI: These need service too!
Servicing a standard gas tank water heater requires flushing the sediment from the tank annually and replacing the sacrificial
anode rod every 3 to 5 years.
* Tankless (On-Demand)
15 – 20+ Years
FYI: These need service too!
Servicing a tankless water heater requires flushing the internal heating coils annually with 3 to 4 gallons of descaling solution.
